Why did you choose a Health Coach over a Personal Trainer?I have spent years trying to get fit and lose weight without success. I also struggled to find time to fit fitness in with my busy workload (or so I thought).
What were your expectations or goals?(a) A coach who would nag me until I did it!! (b) To improve my running technique and increase my fitness sessions ...and in reality?Really good fun, I look forward to the sessions and find they are very good for dealing with a stressful job and hectic family life. My running has really improved, I now follow a structured program and I understand what I need to do to make it even better.
What have you achieved?
I now plan my sessions so I have regular sessions during the week, I have changed the way I eat and I have now cancelled my gym membership. My eating habits have now completely changed, for the better. I now have a more educated view over what’s right and wrong and I no longer have the 3pm slump in energy.
I look forward to my sessions with Matt as they are fun and you can see the results. We even take my dog, Beryl (that’s her in the picture) with us so that’s another job done!
I hope to run a 5h 30min marathon in New York in November. My current marathon time is 6h. What are your future goals? To lose more weight and improve my running speed. What keeps you motivated?
Seeing the results and feeling better. I now regularly leap out of bed and go for a run at 5.30am! What is/was the hardest part of the journey?None of it to be honest, its all been a pleasure. If you could give one piece of advice, what would it be?Pick up the ‘phone. I was terrified but I did it. Now when I finish my runs I want to go further. |
